Drove to Murfreesboro. I’m really starting to count the days 'til we get home. Tolerance is short amongst a few of us.
The Red Rose was a rad coffee house. They fed us and had several computers available. The Apes were happy. We met our labelmates, Detachment Kit, and had some good chats with them. The show started late and we went out third out of four acts. Played a great set. Detachment Kit went on last. They were AWESOME! I would love to do some more shows with them. We stayed with a guy who had a studio is his house though I can’t remember his name.

Well, we got up and went to Waffle House. I hate Waffle House. I always ask for food without butter and they give me food with butter. We started talking about some shows that Pleasure Forever had asked us to play with them. Three of us said yes, we would like to do them. Jeff said no. Someone got annoyed. We ended up having a blowout meltdown fight on the interstate that lasted for three hours with one driver swerving the van over through a few lanes of traffic, and Jeff got a full cup of hot coffee dumped on his crotch. The end result was hopefully greater understanding amongst the Ape family. Later that day, I got attacked by fire ants. I walked into a field at a gas station and without realizing it, stood right on their little fire ant mound. My foot and leg were covered in a matter of seconds. Erick and I managed to scrape them off and the bites faded by the next day.
So, the show... The club, the Musicquarium, in Jackson, MI, was located in a shopping mall. We met Party of Helicopters, who we were doing the show with. Awesome guys, awesome band. Their singer makes the most amazing gay faces when he plays. We stayed with the promoter and watched videos of Corey Haim’s personal promotion film that he made to assure his fans that he wasn’t fucked up after the rehab stay or breakdown. Santo the Boston terrier kept us entertained by bringing us his toys all night.

We got to Atlanta only to find that my favorite clothes store was already closed, so we sound checked and ate the awesome food from The Earl. Party of Helicopters were awesome again and I enjoyed chatting with those guys, as well as Henry from Chunklet. We drove 45 minutes outside of Atlanta to crash with Pleasure Forever at Josh’s mom’s house. Her home was beautiful, clean, and well stocked with food. We stayed up till 5.00 in the morning shooting the poo.

Almost home. Drove to Chapel Hill. Sound checked. Erick and I found a Chinese Restaurant that was really cheap and pretty decent. Played a kick ass set to five people and I drove us home. We arrived back in DC just in time for sunrise and rush hour. Thanks to everyone we met, and everyone who helped us out along the way. We couldn’t have done it without you.
